What is the Bash?
The Bash is House of Hope’s largest congregational event. Not only is it a fun gathering for our church community, it raises critical funds for people in physical, emotional and spiritual need in St. Paul. This year, dust off your lederhosen and polka shoes and join us for a House of Hope Oktoberfest! We'll roll out the barrels, while you get ready to feast on a traditional German dinner, along with opportunities to bid on exceptional products and services during at both the live and silent auction.
Start in the Kirk Parlor take your time bidding for items in Silent Auction. Then, stroll downstairs to discover the Great Hall transformed into a Bavarian Bierzelt. This year’s HOH Bash Komitee have put together an unforgettable evening of Alpine delights.
When is the Bash and what does it cost?
The Bash will be held on Friday, October 15, 2016 at the House of Hope Presbyterian Church. Doors open at 5:00 so you’ll want to get there right away to start your bidding. Buffet dinner begins at 7, followed by a live auction and presentation.
Tickets are $45 per person and are available for purchase online at hohchurch.ejoinme.org/bash2016. The Bash Komitee team will also be selling tickets in the Kirk Parlor before and after services each Sunday leading up to the Bash.
Why do we have the Bash?
House of Hope’s mission outreach is funded almost entirely through Bash auction proceeds and the generosity of our congregation members. Thousands of people in St. Paul and the greater Twin Cities area depend on our help to feed their children healthy food, find affordable and safe housing, go to school, and secure productive employment. In the past three years, the House of Hope Bash raised more a quarter million dollars to fund these necessities. Your gifts and support translate our faith into action and serve as a beacon of hope and Christ’s love in the world.
What does my ticket include?
Full access to the best Oktoberfest this side of the Mississippi. Your ticket allows you to bid in the silent and live auctions and dine in style. Oktoberfest has a special affinity with bier, but an assortment of wine and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available.
What food will be served and will there be vegetarian and gluten free options?
A tasty Bavarian-style buffet dinner will give you a taste of Germany, right here in St. Paul. For those of you who prefer veg or gluten free or have food allergies, the Bash will have a little something for everyone. However, it would be helpful to know ahead if you have special dietary requirements so we can plan accordingly.
Is this a family event?
We love our kinder which is why babysitting will be available for them at the Meeting House. (Age 4 and up please)
